ACCESS
Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State to State
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has joined 27 other states in adopting the World-Class International Design and Assessment (W.I.D.A.) Consortium. Students will be screened through October, 2011 with the W-A.P.T. (W.I.D.A. ACCESS Placement Test) to determine if they take the ACCESS test in 2012. The W-A.P.T. is a tool to allow Hancock Place School District to properly place students in an E.L. L. program.
The ACCESS test will be given January 9-February 27th, 2012.
The W-A.P.T. test is in line with the English Language Proficiency Standards.
The ACCESS test and curriculum involve:
- Social and Instructional Language
- The language of Language Arts
- The language of Mathematics
- The language of Science
- The language of Social Studies
